Job Description

About the Role:

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the routine servicing and maintenance of a wide range of fire safety systems and equipment. This role involves managing service schedules, supervising technical staff, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Supervisor must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Personnel Management:
Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of service technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
Training: Conduct or arrange for ongoing training to ensure technicians are knowledgeable about the latest fire protection technologies and safety practices.
Scheduling: Develop and manage work schedules to ensure timely service delivery and efficient use of resources.
Operational Oversight:
Service Coordination: Plan and coordinate routine servicing activities for fire safety measures, including but not limited to:
Sprinkler systems
Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
Emergency Warning & Intercom Systems/Building Occupant Warning Systems
Fire Hydrant systems
Fire Hose Reels, Portable Fire Extinguishers & Fire Blankets
Fire Booster Pumps
Fire & Smoke Doors
Passive Fire Elements
Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems
Other Essential Fire Safety Measures
Quality Control: Ensure all services are performed to the highest standards and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve technical issues, customer complaints, and operational challenges promptly and effectively.
Administrative Duties:
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment status, and compliance reports. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and cost management for service operations. Monitor expenditures and optimize resource allocation.
Reporting: Generate regular reports on service performance, technician productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Customer Relations:
Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding service inquiries, scheduling, and issues. Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Service Agreements: Manage service contracts and agreements, ensuring all terms are met and renewals are handled efficiently.
Compliance and Safety:
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all service activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to fire protection and safety.
Safety Practices: Promote and enforce safety protocols within the service team. Conduct regular safety meetings and drills to uphold a safe working environment.

Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Driver’s licence
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Eagerness to learn and upskill
A genuine passion for the Fire Protection Industry
Understand and willingness to implement OH&S
Ability to carry out site inductions, paperwork, emails, and time sheets on iPhone or android device.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

Fire Safety Assessor (FSA) accreditation
FPAS (Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme)
Current blue/White card
Ability to use Uptick and FireMate
EWP license
