Irrigationist Assistant

Our Client HUSSEY & CO PTY LTD ABN - xxxxxxx 0246 – Located in Somerville, VIC is seeking a Irrigationist Assistant Full-time position for between $70,000 - $75,000 a year.

Our growing Agribusiness located in Newry, Gippsland is seeking an energetic and highly competent irrigation technician to join our growing team. We are seeking a highly driven and capable individual who is naturally inquisitive and has the ability to solve problems and think on their feet. Reporting directly to the Land Prep Manager, you will be responsible for all irrigation related duties and maintenance of the irrigation systems across all farm locations in Gippsland.
Duties will include:
· Determine hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system
· Implement and irrigation-related program
· Schedule irrigations
· Select and manage pumping systems for irrigation
· Interpret and apply irrigation designs
· Supervise irrigation system installations
· Supervise irrigation maintenance
· Operation and maintenance of the irrigation systems
· Responsible for irrigation installation projects
· Maintain accurate records of programs
· Following irrigation schedules and ensuring water systems and growth are at optimum function
· General tractor work and machinery operation

It is essential you possess the following:
· Hands on and show of commitment
· 5+ years irrigation experience
· Mechanically minded and exceptional problem-solving skills
· Horticultural knowledge and practical experience
· Highly energetic and proactive
· Calm under pressure and highly competent
· Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to work in all weather conditions
