Agronomist (Agriculture Science)

Our Client HUSSEY & CO PTY LTD ABN - xxxxxxx 0246 – Located in Somerville, VIC is seeking a Agronomist (Agriculture Science) Full-time position for between $93,000 - $120,000 a year.

Our growing FMCG business located on the Mornington Peninsula, is looking for an energetic, passionate & highly experienced Agronomist
Duties will include:
· Collecting and analysing data and samples of produce, feed, soil and other factors affecting production
· Advising Farm Managers on techniques for improving the production of crops and livestock, and alternative agricultural options
· Determine water quality and availability
· Advising Farm Managers on issues such as livestock and crop disease, control of pests and weeds, soil improvement, animal husbandry and feeding programs In conjunction with Agribusiness professionals, develop an irrigation and drainage management plan
· Studying the environmental factors affecting commercial crop production, pasture growth, animal breeding, and the growth.
· Preparing plans for reforestation and devising efficient harvesting systems
· Investigating, planning and implementing management procedures to cope with the effects of fires, floods, droughts, soil erosion, insect pests and diseases
It is essential you possess the following:
· Successful completion of an appropriate degree
· Proven post-qualification experience in a similar role or ability to adapt and display skills require
· Hands on and show of commitment
· Successful completion of an appropriate Trade Qualification
· Proven post-trade experience in a similar role or ability to adapt and display skills required
· Good analytical skills, attention to detail and decision-making ability
· Proven ability and willingness to work as part of a team
· Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
· Ability to work autonomously, without supervision
