Metal Fabricator

Established in 2019, Pro Metal Design is a high-end architectural metal company located in Hillsdale (NSW). We manufacture and install high-quality custom metal creations to meet the unique needs of each client.
We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team in a full-time position and contribute to our mission of excellence. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting blueprints and specifications and will possess both technical proficiency and essential soft skills to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Blueprint Interpretation: Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and ensure precise execution.
• Metal Preparation: Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication, ensuring all materials meet the necessary standards.
• Cutting & Shaping: Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal cutting machines. Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, as well as by heating and hammering.
• Assembly: Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments and join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting.
• Quality Control: Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision to ensure high-quality outcomes. Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions. Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding.

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Extensive experience with cutting, shaping, and joining metal using various techniques and tools.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and quality inspection standards.
• Ability to handle and prepare metal stock efficiently and safely.
