Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Timely reporting of monthly financial results for responsible entities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Monitor the company’s compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures. Develop and implement accounting and operations systems to tighten internal control’s and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s accounting and administration systems.

Preparation of budgets and forecasts

Preparation of the month-end file

Liaison with & facilitation of external auditors

Preparation of co-ordination of income tax returns and statutory accounts

Adhoc reports requested for Country & Regional & HO Mgmt

Other duties as required

Skills and experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

The Financial Accountant shall have obtained or be studying for a CPA (Certified practicing Accountant) or equivalent qualification

Minimum of 2 years general accounting experience and specialised knowledge in financial and/or operational accounting.

Experience with preparation of financial statements

Proficiency with accounting systems like Dynamics AX and MS office applications like Excel, Word

Knowledge of applicable Financial Standards and IFRS accounting rules

Skilful preparation of statistical and written reports for management

Attention to detail – approaches work in a meticulous, thorough and detailed manner

Deadline orientated – ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities

Teamwork – working co-operatively and productively with the accounts team to achieve results

Time/self management – priorities work to meet goals or deadlines

Leadership – Acting as a role model to account staff and positively influencing people and events

Confidentiality – can be trusted to keep sensitive and confidential information secure
