Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $ 73,150 plus Super
Hours: 38 hours
Mode: Full time
Location: 49 Enterprise Way, Sunshine West VIC, 3020
Experience required: Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant roles
S. D. Mechanical Repairs has been established for over 20 years, providing car, bus and truck service and repair needs for the local people of Sunshine and surrounding suburbs. Our strict quality controls, up-to-date diagnostic equipment, and our highly skilled mechanics come together to provide the best service for your car.
We are 10 minutes’ drive from Sunshine train station, 10 minutes’ walk from the nearest bus stop and only 17 km from Melbourne CBD. We can perform servicing for petrol and diesel cars, 4WD and light commercials as well as bus and truck servicing. We also do logbook servicing for a new car to retain the new car warranty. We service and repair Japanese and European cars as well.
Our workshop is equipped with the latest computerised diagnostic equipment including scan tools, aircon servicing machines and we have a large clean 6-bay workshop with 4 hoists and 5 mechanics.
We are giving you an exciting opportunity to join the elite team based in Sunshine, VIC. We are looking for a team member to join our friendly Motor Mechanics who are proud and passionate about cars. The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Repair, maintain and test motor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components.
• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, and checking parts.
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
• Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
• Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
• May inspect vehicles and issue detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.
• May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.

Abilities/Attributes
• Self-starter with strong self-management skills.
• Strong team player with ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Competency in all the duties listed above.

Qualifications
• Certificate III, IV and Diploma in Automotive with on-the-job experience.
