Job Description
Position: Cabler
Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 + 11.5% superannuation
Hours: 40 hours
Mode: Full-time

Experience required: Minimum 1 years’ experience in relevant roles.
Allowances: Fare and Travel Time Allowances will be paid in addition to your salary as per Enterprise Agreement

The remuneration will be as per the Enterprise Agreement (Stowe Australia Pty Ltd – Sydney Client Services Single Enterprise Agreement 2021)
About the Role:
Cabler’s role at Stowe Australia Pty Ltd entails the responsibility of managing various tasks related to installing, maintaining and repairing data transmission equipment, aerial lines conduits, radio antennae and telecommunications equipment and appliances. The ideal candidate for the job will excel in meeting associated deadlines, exhibit a strong work ethic, show a willingness to learn on the job, and possess the ability to collaborate within a team while also being effective independently.
The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Pull cable or fibre optic cable by hand from mounted truck reels and climb poles, ladders or access power pole tops using bucket trucks to string lines between existing appliances, auxiliary equipment and/or terminal boxes as assigned on a new project basis
• Analyzing work areas, drawings, and specifications to establish the connections and placement of equipment that needs to be installed
• Dig trenches per engineering specifications to lay new ground cable or fiber optic cable on a new project basis
• Pull cable by hand and lay in trenches, work through tunnels and in confined spaces
• Pull cable using the designated tension per engineering specifications through the conduits, ducts and tunnels to existing appliances, auxiliary equipment and/or terminal boxes
• Identifying issues with telecom equipment with tools like transmission measuring devices, voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters
• Connecting cables and using lead and thermoplastic to seal sheaths
• Test signal utility pole signal strength using the appropriate electronic equipment when needed
• Inspect and test the lines after installation or if there is a suspected problem to determine the location of malfunctions
• setting up cables for computer, pay TV, radio, and phone transmission
• Analyse and record test results
• Install new service or repair for customers, including making service calls to their premises and installing cable lines and equipment, connecting to service and testing lines
Qualifications:
• Minimum Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or relevant qualifications
• ACMA License required
