Job Description
Position: Enrolled Nurse
Salary: $73,150 plus 11.5% superannuation
Hours: 38
Mode: Full-time
Location: 8/1 Merino Entrance, Cockburn Central, WA 6164
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Record baseline observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂, BMI) for all pre-employment and fitness-for-work medicals, alerting the supervising RN/doctor to any abnormalities.
• Perform 12-lead ECGs, recognise urgent arrhythmias and escalate immediately.
• Conduct calibrated spirometry for lung-function, isocyanate and silicosis screening programmes.
• Carry out standard and WorkCover audiometry, documenting hearing thresholds for conservation programmes.
• Collect venous blood samples for cardiovascular-risk and other pathology panels, following infection-control protocols.
• Supervise musculoskeletal and functional-capacity tests, recording range-of-motion and manual-handling performance.
• Undertake chain-of-custody drug-and-alcohol screening (instant and laboratory), ensuring specimen integrity and secure dispatch.
• Coordinate or perform mask-fit and ear-fit testing, issuing pass/fail documentation.
• Prepare clients for onsite or referred radiology, confirming consent and uploading results to the EMR.
• Triage complex cases, schedule sequential assessments and ensure same-day completion of employer-mandated medicals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences for injured workers, updating rehabilitation plans and progress notes.
• Provide brief, targeted education on noise-induced hearing loss, respiratory protection, cardiovascular risk factors and safe manual handling.
• Give written after-care instructions for phlebotomy, ECG electrode care and post-spirometry recovery.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and complete employer summary reports within required turnaround times.
• Comply with NMBA Enrolled Nurse Standards, WA OSH regulations and MyHealthCK SOPs for infection control, privacy and data security.
• Assist with internal audits, equipment calibration and continuous-improvement meetings; help update policies for new surveillance services.
• Complete annual competency reviews in audiometry, spirometry, phlebotomy, ECG acquisition and drug-screen collection.
• Provide emotional support to anxious clients and injured workers, referring to appropriate services when necessary.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse)
• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
