The Role

The role will suit a skilled and analytical individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is confident in delivering accurate reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Prepare and examine financial statements, profit and loss accounts, and other financial reports for clients.
• Complete business and individual tax returns and ensure compliance with ATO regulations.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and payroll tax returns.
• Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, ledgers, and other financial records.
• Provide general accounting advice and support to clients across various industries.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
• Support the implementation of accounting systems and software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
• Liaise with clients, auditors, and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Ensure all records and transactions are maintained in line with compliance standards.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax law and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks is highly regarded.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA/CA qualification (completed or in progress) is preferred.

Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year
