Position: Retail Buyer (full-time)

Key Responsibilities:
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring procurement policies and strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of halal-certified meats, fresh produce, and international grocery items.
• Preparing and managing inventory plans to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing wastage and storage costs.
• Negotiating pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with both local and international suppliers to ensure quality and timely supply of goods.
• Monitoring inventory management systems and adjusting procurement plans in response to sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Operating and maintaining systems for tracking incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring timely reordering and product availability.
• Collaborating with retail manager to align supply chain operations with customer needs and business goals.
• Overseeing all purchase, storage, and distribution records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Directing and supervising retail buyer and procurement team activities, providing guidance, setting performance objectives, and conducting regular evaluations.
• Ensuring continuous availability of culturally specific and high-demand products to meet customer expectations and enhance store reputation.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the retail or food and beverage sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Proven negotiation and communication skills, with a track record of building and maintaining productive supplier relationships.
• Solid understanding of inventory management principles and stock control practices.
• Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on product quality, regulatory compliance, and cost-efficiency.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including merchandisers, sales staff, and marketing personnel.
• Strong team management and leadership capabilities with the ability to delegate, supervise, and motivate staff.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced, multicultural retail environment.
• Flexibility to work across varied schedules and manage time zones, with no travel restrictions.
