Job Description
Our client, Argus Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd, is looking an experienced Welder to perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding, along with custom fabrication for both industrial and commercial projects.
Tasks Include:
• Perform MIG, and ARC welding on steel, aluminium and other metals to manufacture and repair and related components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings and technical documents to accurately fabricate components.
• Fit and weld metal components with precision, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.
• Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure adherence to safety standards and specifications.
• Identify and correct any defects or inconsistencies in the welds (by welding, cutting or grinding), ensuring the final product meets quality control standards.
• Monitoring the heat and temperature of the welding process to avoid overheating and ensure proper penetration.
• Grinding and smoothing welded joints to achieve a clean finish and meet surface standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, tasks completed, and any defects found.
• Work closely with other team members to meet production timelines.
• Provide input during production meetings to help identify potential issues and solutions in the manufacturing process.
• Operate welding equipment, cutting tools, and machinery following safety guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, conducting regular checks to ensure they are in proper working condition.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintain a safe work area and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and other requirements
• Have a Certificate III qualification or higher in welding/fabricating.
• At least 1 year of experience as a welder in the last 5 years.
• Familiarity with metal properties, welding quality control and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
• Good physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid awareness of health and safety requirements.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
