New Boval Pty Ltd are a custom precision sheet metal manufacturers located in Penrith, NSW. New Boval Pty Ltd have a highly skilled and experienced team of engineers and draftsmen who will provide advice about Sheetmetal product development and design of custom-made precision Sheetmetal products specifically for your business and project needs.
We are seeking a competent Welder (First Class) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to both maintain and develop these tasks and to provide a greater level of service to our client base.
• Reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures.
• Set up and operate various welding machines.
• Prepare metal surfaces and perform quality checks on welds.
• Cleaning, cutting, and preparing metal components for welding, often using tools like angle grinders.
• Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding.
• Weld beams and frames to specifications
• Fixing or modifying metal parts by welding, cutting, or grinding.
• Joining metal parts by using various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding, in different positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Use flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines to cut out metal sections.
• Working with engineers, and team members to complete projects.
• Finish products filing rough surfaces and polishing.
• Bathe finished products in acidic solutions where needed.
• Adhering to strict safety protocols and using appropriate safety gear.
Qualifications:
• Certificate III or IV in Engineering
Skills:
• Proficiency in various welding processes and techniques.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Understanding different types of metals and their properties.
• Troubleshooting welding issues and finding solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
