Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Chatkora’s is a vibrant and fast-growing restaurant known for its authentic Indian flavours with a modern twist, and we are now expanding our menu to highlight the unique and popular Indo-Chinese cuisine. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef specialising in Indo-Chinese dishes to join our team and help deliver bold flavours, high-quality meals, and memorable dining experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan Indo-Chinese inspired menus that align with Chatkora’s authentic and contemporary dining experience.
• Estimate food and labour costs to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining the premium quality expected by our guests.
• Order fresh food supplies and specialty ingredients required for Indo-Chinese cooking, ensuring consistent stock levels.
• Monitor the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes at every stage of preparation to uphold Chatkora’s standards.
• Discuss food preparation requirements and service efficiency with Managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Demonstrate Indo-Chinese cooking techniques and advise team members on preparation, seasoning, and presentation.
• Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indo-Chinese dishes to perfection.
• Explain and enforce hygiene, safety, and food handling regulations to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
• Assist in selecting and training kitchen staff in Indo-Chinese cooking methods and standards.
• Oversee freezing and preservation of certain foods where required to ensure freshness and reduce wastage.

Qualifications:
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma of Hospitality Management (Preferred but not mandatory).

Other Skills and Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef with expertise in Indo-Chinese cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of Indo-Chinese flavours, techniques, and presentation styles.
• Ability to lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Passion for delivering high-quality, flavourful, and consistent dishes in a busy kitchen environment.
