Job Description
The Tasting Deck Forestway - Located in in Terrey Hills, Sydney NSW is a Restaurant serving Café cuisine. Our sun-drenched, spacious outdoor deck provides the perfect setting for our customers and fellow food aficionados to enjoy a taste of Forestway. Enjoy an early morning brekkie or a power lunch, even treat the kids to some afternoon tea.
Being the foodies we are, we just had to try everything on the menu... and a few things twice, just to be sure!
We are currently looking for a qualified Chef for a full-time position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Prepare and cook diverse dishes, ensuring high-quality taste and presentation.
• Contribute to menu planning, considering customer preferences, dietary needs, and ingredient availability.
• Maintain food quality through regular inspections, taste tests, and portion control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, implementing HACCP guidelines.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
• Control costs by minimizing waste, monitoring portions, and optimizing ingredient usage.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
• Stay updated with culinary trends and experiment with new recipes and presentation styles.
• Provide excellent customer service by understanding preferences, accommodating needs, and resolving issues professionally.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant Qualification
• At least 2 years previous experiences in similar roles
• Passion with food
• Able to work well with team, and also independently.
• Good organizational and communication skills
