Job Description
Position: Restaurant & Café Manager
Salary: $72,000 - $75,000 Plus Superannuation
Location: 16 Lyttleton St Castlemaine VIC 3450
Mode: Full Time
Experience: 1-2 years’ experience
Tandoori cuizine, one of the only two Indian restaurants located in Castlemaine, Victoria serving our local community with delicious mouth-watering Indian dishes from past 4 years.
As our next Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for leading a large team of service staff and supervisors. We are seeking the following skills and experience:
• You have exceptional presence on the restaurant floor and are able to build strong rapport with guests.
• Have excellent knowledge of food and wine and can talk confidently and with passion in this arena
• Possess the natural ability to mentor others and build a strong collaborative team
• Have a desire to continually grow and learn your craft
• Ability to manage restaurant administrative duties and reporting
• Good working knowledge of restaurant compliance
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy.
• Training staff to follow restaurant procedures.
• Planning menus in consultation with Chefs.
• Planning and organizing special functions.
• Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
• Maintaining safety and food quality standards.
• Keeping customers happy and handling complaints.
• Organizing schedules.
• Keeping track of employees’ hours
• Ordering food, linens, gloves and other supplies while staying within budget limitations
• selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff.
• Ensuring all end of day cash outs are correctly completed.
• Coordinating daily front- and back-of-house restaurant operations
• Controlling operational costs and identifying ways to cut waste
• Appraising staff performance
• Interviewing/recruiting new employees.
• May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking order.
• Interacting with guests to get feedback on product quality and service levels.

• Relevant Bachelors in Management.
• Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
• Availability 7 days a week including days/nights/weekends/split shifts and public holidays
