Job description includes a variety of responsibilities, such as:
Menu planning: Create menus and daily specials
Food preparation: Study recipes, prepare dishes, and taste them before serving
Kitchen management: Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure meals are prepared on time
Food quality: Check the freshness of ingredients, monitor the quality of dishes, and ensure meals meet quality standards
Food safety: Monitor sanitation practices, follow kitchen safety standards, and explain and enforce hygiene regulations
Inventory: Order and maintain food and supply inventory, and manage food costs
Equipment and supplies: Inspect equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
Staff management: Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers
Communication: Discuss food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff
