DUTIES:
• Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Spanish dishes (tapas, paellas, grilled meats, seafood, etc.) following recipes and presentation standards.
• Adapt dishes for dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian) when needed.
• Monitor cooking temperatures, grill settings, and oven operations to ensure perfect results.
• Maintain proper food storage and handling to meet safety standards.
• Work efficiently during high-volume catering events, ensuring timely and consistent food service.
• Assist with plating, garnishing, and portioning dishes for catering presentations.
• Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure top quality and authenticity.
• Always follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to execute catering orders smoothly.
• Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• At least 1 year of full-time cooking experience, preferably in catering, Spanish cuisine, or high-volume kitchens.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques (grilling, frying, sautéing, etc.).
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Attention to detail in food presentation and flavour balance.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience).
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Passion for Spanish cuisine and a team-player attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering great food.
