Job Description
Position: Chef
Salary: $76,600 plus 12% super
Hours: 38 hours
Mode: Full time
Location: 420-440 Craigieburn Road Craigieburn VIC 3064
Experience required: Minimum 1 year experience in relevant roles

We are passionate about creating mouth-watering dishes that keep our customers coming back for more. We are currently looking for a talented and creative Chef to join our team and contribute to our culinary journey.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet the café's quality standards.
• Adapt and create new recipes that align with the café's brand and customer preferences.
• Monitor food portions, waste, and inventory to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure that all customer dietary needs are met accurately.
• Regularly review and update menu items to accommodate a variety of dietary needs while maintaining flavour and quality.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Ensure that all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and monitoring stock levels.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
• Collaborate with the Café Manager to develop and update the café's menu, introducing new dishes and seasonal specials.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Ensure that all dishes are presented attractively and consistently.
• Respond to customer feedback and make adjustments to dishes or service as necessary.
• Maintain a customer-focused attitude, ensuring that the café's reputation for quality food is upheld.
• Report any kitchen-related issues or maintenance needs to the Café Manager promptly.
Qualifications:
• Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not mandatory)
Skills & Experience Required:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Chef in a café, restaurant, or similar setting.
• Proficient in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a strong focus on quality and presentation.
• Ability to develop new recipes and adapt existing ones to fit the café's menu.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
