Job Description
Description of job duties and responsibilities:
• Collaborating with clients to understand and diagnose issues with their instruments.
• Inspecting and testing equipment to identify faults, issues or malfunctions.
• Providing estimates of costs and giving quotations to customers.
• Calibrating instruments such as remote receivers for optimal accuracy and performance ensuring accurate signal transmission/frequency and range performance.
• Use of specialised tools including impulse personalisation solution and Gravotech, bravo professional, condor and xhorse as well as manual tools such as jigs and weights.
• Designing and fabricating precision instruments and equipment including industrial measuring instruments.
• Troubleshooting issues with instruments (and sub-assemblies) parts/sub-assemblies will then be adjusted, realigned and precisely reassembled.
• Recording detailed documentation of repair processes and maintenance activities.
• Offering expert advice on the proper handling and maintenance of precision instruments.
• Managing inventory and ordering necessary parts and supplies for repairs.
• Following workplace safety protocols, handling delicate instruments carefully, and maintaining a clean and controlled work environment.
Requirements for this role:
• Certificate IV or higher qualification or equivalent in Engineering relevant field.
• Recent 1 year of full-time relevant experience working as a precision instrument maker and repairer in the last five years.
• Ability to lead and work effectively as part of team.
• Ability to work independently and without supervision.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability work with flexible hours including weekends.
Salary range: $73,000 - $83,000 per annum
