Floor Finisher (Concrete)

Our Client Transitions Polishing & Grinding Pty Ltd located in Molendinar, QLD is seeking someone to fill the roll of Floor Finisher (Concrete).

Reports To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Job Summary: As a Concrete Floor Finisher, you will be responsible for the preparation, installation, and finishing of concrete and resilient flooring systems. This role requires a blend of technical skills and craftsmanship to ensure high-quality flooring solutions for various construction projects. You will work closely with other team members to deliver exceptional results that meet project specifications and client expectations.

Duties:

Preparation and Measurement:
• Measure areas to be covered and consult plans to estimate quantities of concrete, resin, and other flooring materials required.
• Prepare surfaces for covering, including cleaning and removing existing baseboard trims, to ensure a smooth installation process.
• Mix and pour concrete, ensuring proper consistency and quality for various flooring applications.
• Utilize finishing tools (trowels, float tools) to create a smooth and level concrete surface, applying sealants and coatings as needed.
• Polish concrete floors to achieve the desired finish and appearance.
• Measure, cut, and install resilient resin and concrete floor coverings, including carpets, linoleum, parquetry blocks, cork tiles, and other materials.
• Cut shapes around fixtures and match patterns, ensuring precise and aesthetically pleasing installations.
• Secure floor coverings and fit edge trims in doorways for a professional finish.
• Mix and apply epoxy flooring systems, following manufacturer specifications to ensure longevity and performance.
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance, adjusting and repairing as necessary.
• Identify and repair defects in concrete or flooring surfaces to uphold quality standards.
• Work closely with other construction team members to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
• Communicate effectively regarding project progress, challenges, and changes in scope.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety protocols on-site.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications plus min 2 years are preferred.
• Ability to operate flooring tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
• Driver’s License & Own Transportation

Working Conditions:
• This position requires working outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions.
• Frequent lifting, bending, and standing for long periods are required.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and other construction-related hazards.
