Position: Cook
Basis of Employment: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Location of workplace: 28 Third Ave, Blacktown NSW 2148
Salary: $77,000 to $80,000 + 12% Superannuation
Experience required: Minimum 1-2 years’ (full-time) experience in relevant role

Mitran Da Dhaba Blacktown is an iconic Indian restaurant located in Blacktown serving Indian cuisine and are looking for a full-time cook to work 38 hours per week.

To be considered for the role, the candidate will need to have relevant industry qualification and minimum 1-2 years’ (full-time) experience in a similar position.

The ideal candidate must think innovatively and can create new menus and specials.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Preparing for service and cooking dishes as per the menu and recipes provided
• Monitoring quality of dishes and portion meals appropriately as per company guidelines
• Excellent food presentation skills
• Ability to cater as per cultural and special dietary needs of customers
• Communicate effectively with floor and other kitchen staff
• Receive food and store food at ideal temperatures
• Assist chef in ordering food supplies
• Estimate food requirements as per forecasted usage
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment
• Assist chef in planning menus
• Minimise food wastage
• Liaise with managers and other staff regarding food preparation issues
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards, ensuring safe working practise is always adhered to
• Instruct and train junior kitchen staff
• Ensure suggestions or enquiries by guests are dealt with in accordance with company policies

Skills & Qualifications required for the position:
• Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ full-time work experience as a cook
• Ability to work under pressure
• Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards
• Have Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
