Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team at Craigieburn Mechanical Services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles including cars and SUVs. Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect and test engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, braking, and other components for wear or damage.
• Remove and disassemble mechanical assemblies for in-depth analysis.
• Repair or replace defective parts using OEM components and approved repair techniques.
• Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug checks, fluid top-ups, and scheduled maintenance.
• Reassemble, adjust, and test repaired components for proper functionality.
• Ensure compliance with emission standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Utilize computerized diagnostic and calibration tools to optimize performance.
• Perform safety inspections and issue roadworthy certificates or recommend required repairs.
• Attend on-site breakdown calls and provide roadside mechanical support when necessary.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings with customers professionally.
Qualifications and Skills
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant full-time work experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Ability to interpret service manuals and technical diagrams.
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems and repair databases.
• High attention to detail, reliability, and time management.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
