We’re looking for a skilled Interior Designer to join our growing team in Collingwood. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for someone with at least two years of experience who thrives in a collaborative, design-led environment.
You’ll work closely with our design team to bring residential and commercial interiors to life — from concept through to construction — while ensuring exceptional attention to detail, creativity, and compliance with Australian standards.
What You’ll Do
• Collaborate with clients and team members to understand project goals, constraints, and aesthetic direction.
• Plan, design, detail, and supervise the construction of commercial, industrial, retail, and residential interiors to create purpose-driven environments, with a strong focus on space planning and enhancing the quality of living and working spaces.
• Develop thoughtful space plans and interior layouts that balance function, beauty, and efficiency.
• Create mood boards, material palettes, and concept presentations to communicate design vision.
• Produce technical drawings, documentation, and detailed schedules for construction and FF&E.
• Supervise the construction of interiors to ensure design integrity and quality outcomes.
• Work closely with suppliers, builders, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Provide creative input on custom joinery and furniture designs to suit individual projects.
• Conduct site visits to oversee implementation and resolve design issues during construction.
• Assist with project budgeting, sourcing, and preparing client-facing presentations and proposals.
What We’re Looking For
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in interior design or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Strong skills in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of the National Construction Code and Victorian building standards.
• Strong hand sketching abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
Why Join Us?
At Design and Diplomacy, we value design excellence, team spirit, and personal growth. You’ll join a passionate, collaborative studio where your ideas are encouraged and your work has real impact.
