Job Description

Global Vision Recruitment on Behalf of Hampton Front Beach Pty Ltd

Position: Chef
Salary: $73,150 plus 11.5% superannuation
Hours: 38
Mode: Full-time
Location: 301 - 303 Hampton St, Hampton VIC 3188
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a commercial kitchen

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Design and update menus using seasonal and local ingredients in collaboration with Head Chef
• Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to kitchen protocols and service expectations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety management systems
• Oversee food preparation and portion control to minimize waste and maintain food cost targets
• Monitor kitchen inventory, manage orders, and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh produce
• Train and mentor junior kitchen team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively with front-of-house and management to ensure smooth service flow
• Handle kitchen equipment with care, conduct routine maintenance checks, and report any faults
• Participate in rostering, scheduling, and shift planning where required
• Manage kitchen operations during peak hours and in the absence of senior chefs or management
• Contribute to the development of kitchen systems and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency
• Ensure allergen management and dietary requirements are met with accuracy and care

Qualifications:
• Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not mandatory).
• Diploma of Hospitality Management (Preferred but not mandatory).

Other Skills & Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year experience working as a Chef in a busy, high-standard kitchen
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food handling, and hygiene best practices
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Creativity and passion for delivering memorable food experiences
