Job Description
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
• Complete technical blueprints, drawings, and models in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Create parts, assemblies, design tables, and detailed drawings for fabrication.
• Apply expertise in sheet metal design to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members to review and redraft designs as needed.
• Assist with preparing bills of materials.
• Preparing DFX files for CNC cutting, and ordering through suppliers if necessary.
• Ensure a clean and safe workspace, adhering to workplace health and safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and presentable office environment.
• Professionally communicate with clients, suppliers, and team members at all times.
• Meet strict deadlines and ensure the timely completion of all projects.
Skills & Experience:
• Working towards a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role or industry.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, with the ability to create parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
• SolidWorks certification for Manufacturing, Mechanical Design, Advanced Drawing tools, Advanced surfacing, Advanced Weldments, Advanced Sheet Metal, 3D Sculptor, Simulation; Expert Level desirable.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design.
• Strong knowledge of pipe.
• Understand Australian fabrication standards and weld procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
