Salary: $73,150 Plus 11.5% Superannuation
Hours: 38 hours
Mode: Full time

About us: Wonky Trolley is a boutique burger restaurant known for our delicious, creative burger menu. In addition, we also run a dumplings restaurant, offering a variety of rice bowls and dumplings. We pride ourselves on providing a unique and flavourful dining experience, with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our dynamic team. This role involves working across both our burger and dumpling restaurants, preparing a variety of dishes to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food quality, consistency, and attention to detail.

The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Inspect ingredients to ensure they are fresh, high-quality, and meet our standard before preparation begins.
• Monitor and control the temperature of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and fryers, to ensure all dishes are cooked properly and safely.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu, including burgers, fries, rice bowls, and dumplings.
• Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in taste and presentation across all dishes.
• Portion and plate food, adding garnishes, sauces, and other finishing touches to ensure each dish looks appetizing and aligns with our presentation standards.
• Safely store ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled environments to maintain freshness and comply with food safety regulations.
• Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary needs such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or other requests.
• Collaborate on menu planning, helping to estimate ingredient quantities and ensure proper stock levels based on anticipated customer demand.
• Support and train junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and skills to maintain high standards in food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food items.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate the timing and delivery of orders.

Qualifications:
• Cert III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not mandatory).

Other Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Cook or similar role in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
