Position: Head Chef
Attractive salary package + Superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week
Mode: Full-time
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Experience Required: Minimum 2-3years’ experience in a relevant role

Job Summary:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring high-quality food preparation, menu creation, kitchen management, and staff supervision. The Head Chef will maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and will ensure the kitchen runs efficiently while creating a positive and productive work environment. This position requires leadership, creativity, and a deep passion for culinary arts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and design seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences.
• Supervise kitchen operations and ensure food quality and presentation meet the restaurant’s standards.
• Lead, train, and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
• Monitor kitchen costs and manage inventory to ensure budget compliance and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations.
• Focus on delivering high-quality food and service to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Continuously develop and test new recipes to keep the menu fresh, innovative, and aligned with customer preferences.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and food safety regulations.
• Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including food hygiene practices.
